did you know?...

In 1997 the Executive of Hamilton Conference established the Pastoral Care Team in response to the need for pastoral care for ministry personnel and their families. Members of the team are representative of both lay and ordered ministry, and of the six presbyteries of Hamilton Conference.

The pastoral care that the team provides is confidential and is shaped to meet a variety of concerns and situations. Please consult the following Word document for more information. (Opens in a separate window.)

Pick-up Locations...

Order Pick-ups at Harcourt Memorial United Church in Guelph and
St. James-Rosemount United Church in Kitchener

We welcome you to visit us in person at our location in Saint Luke’s United Church in Cambridge, but we are happy to drop off orders at the two drop-off points. Orders can be picked up at St. James-Rosemount Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If you would like to pick up your order at one of our drop-off locations, please let us know when you are placing the order.

Of course, you are still welcome to visit the Resource Centre, and Betty will still be making deliveries to all presbytery and Presbyterial meetings.

what's new...

There are several new publications from The United Church of Canada:

Singing Faith Alive, A workbook for study and worship. The United Church of Canada, 2010. $9.95 plus GST. “This engaging workbook is for congregations, youth groups, choirs, praise bands, ministers, seniors, visitors, neighbours, church committees, weekend retreats, spirituality groups, music directors, and anyone who wants to connect with music.”

This 12-session study is for ministers, lay leaders, faith development committees, groups and individuals who are looking for a Bible study resource. It follows the very well-received studies Jesus 24/7 and Jesus 24/7 Youth.

Contributions from United Church folk all across Canada including two from Waterloo presbytery – Maryann Skinner and Mark Rutledge. Includes questions for discussion after every reflection.

Please call to reserve yours for pick-up at the Centre in Cambridge, at St. James`-Rosemount in Kitchener or Harcourt Memorial in Guelph.

Gathering Summer/Autumn 2010. $8.00 plus GST or subscribe by e-mailing Christina Miller at cmiller@united-church.ca

Highly recommended God’s Dream by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Douglas Carlton Abrahms, illustrated by LeUyen Pham. Candlewick Press, 2008. $18.50 plus GST. It would be difficult to find a sweeter book for children. Large, colorful and relatively quick to read, it would make an ideal story for children’s worship time in church or Sunday school or simply at home. What does God dream?
“God dreams that every one of us will see that we are all brothers and sisters – yes, even you and me – even if we have different mommies and daddies or live in different faraway lands.”
